Coupe C7 package question
The C7 included the "sport" steering wheel, a different gear shifter, the metal/rubber pedal covers, exhaust resonator delete and 17" wheels, did I miss anything?

Update your profile to show your location.
The sport steering wheel is leather covered with 'nubs' at the 10 & 2 locations.
On the manual tranny it has a short throw shifter.
And....you missed the door uh...what are they called...panels...
on the bottom of the door frame. Slightly nicer.
Oddly they didn't include a nubby E brake cover, but one can be purchased for about 10 bucks from MB from the SL or later C230 sport sedan.
EDIT: one other thing...painted door handles, not black plastic.

Thanks! I had not been able to find the wheel answer. Not that it really matters. Profile fixed.

Overall a fun car. It has had it's share of problems, but nothing unusual and is pretty much as bone stock as you can find one, but it gradually gets a few tweaks here and there.

I was looking at cars around that time, I had a 1981 BMW 320i which while almost
indestructible, needed more work than it was worth.
I've often lamented about keeping it, but shoot, it didn't have AC or even power steering.
But maint. was easy and cheap!
I looked at everything, made offers on a couple of older BMW's, but nothing
tickled my fancy, nothing gave me that feeling of actually caring about the car,
all generic, so many idiots in 3 series around here,
so many Honda's...I wanted something a little different.
I started looking at used 318 ti's and the prices were rediculous.
I wanted a car that fit my lifestyle, but didn't want an SUV.
Something sporty, but utilitarian.
Then I saw my 1st C class coupe with a pano roof and leather while in OC.
I was in awe...the sun shining in through the glass...the size of the sunroof!
No messing with softtops, or worrying about someone slashing the roof, and
the safety of a solid top. I pay music both in bands and with friends, and needed a car I could haul
all my gear in, + camp, + fit big stuff.
When the guy folded down the seats I nearly cried...a thing of beauty. I wanted it bad...
nothing else looked like it, nothing else had the cache and the power of the Supercharged 4 in it's price range. And to me, it seemed like a steal compared to a econonbox with a few added options totaling over 20K. It has more power and features than a 3 series for 5 grand less.
I nearly bought that exact car without C7 and some the extra dark blue metallic which
was considered special order and added 1500 to the 750 you already paid for metallic paint.
A friend came the dealership, and asked, 'is this what you really want?'
Well no I said, I can't see paying an extra 1500 for the paint, and the C7 package only added 750 to the cost.
So I set about calling nearly every dealer in CA to find either a desert silver or orion blue coupe with auto, C7, Pano and leather. Like you said, leather was hard to come by.
I drove to San Diego stopping at dealerships along the way until I got to Carlsbad, and the sales guy asked, 'has anyone run it through the computer?' well, no I said.
He found the exact car sitting in the docks in Long Beach clearing customs and getting prepped, and made a trade or something with another dealer, got the car for me for 1000 off sticker, something no other dealer offered.
2 weeks later I flew down to pick it up. The sales guy picked me up at the airport.
We closed the deal on Jan 31, 2002. The car built in Dec. 2001.
I spent a week driving it back, covering all of Hwy 1 in the Southland.
Now I can say I've driven all of hwy 1.
364 days later I bought the extended warranty from Chico. It paid off...
you have 1 year to decide...he he.
After a year of driving, I upgraded the spings and sway bars....and then the ASP pulley....and then the
AMG brakes....then coilovers.....and and and.....to where she is today.
I feel quite certain my next car will also be a 2002 coupe... Just swap everything over to a car with less miles once the tranny starts to go. I'm at 141K miles now...still runs great. Better than ever.

(Sorry That still gets me....she would have left with that 6-speed car that night). We started calling around on Friday, and by Saturday she had found two, one was red, and one was blue. This was before the dealers even had brochures, the only thing she had to go on was the website information and a dealer info release announcement that a sales rep at my preferred dealer had given us (when they said good luck....we have none, and can't get you one with leather - didn't even have the one to test drive yet). She did not want red if she had an option. The blue was destined to be a showroom model for a different dealer (apparently all the leather ones were at the time) and somehow it became "available." When they found it, it was still in transit in the Atlantic and was delayed coming into Jacksonville because of a weather. We were told it was the second shipment into Jacksonville, but no way I could verify that.
The dealer did all the paperwork over the phone, wouldn't even take a deposit - "You say you are going to buy it, that's good enough." They prep'd it and put it on a trailer and brought it about 300 miles, did the paperwork in our living room with it sitting in the driveway.
Somewhere (we moved last year, so a box somewhere) I've got every service ticket, the original paperwork, the original dealer info packet they gave us, printouts of the website and everything except a real brochure -- no one had one when we got it and I did not think about it after they were gone
We bought the extended warranty from the MB dealership I use and it definately paid off, also.I pretty much ignored the car until last year. We got an '03 SLK320 (Pewter, black leather, every option except auto and headlight washers) a couple of years ago, and the Coupe became "mine" but I did not commute in it. However, after my commuter car (300K+ Toyota Paseo) spun a bearing last year, the Coupe became my daily driver.
I'm thinking soon it will have Comand, Climatronic and AMG sways, and I have toyed with the idea of retrofitting the entire C7 package, just for fun, but I don't know if I ever will. It would be sort of a waste, wouldn't add value, etc, but it could be fun.
Before anyone says it...I'll probably never drop it. Just not my thing, but....you never can tell.
I will try to snap some pictures when it quits raining.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Nice story. I like the part where they bring it to your house!
I easily contacted or visited 20 dealerships before one looked on their 'computer' to
find the car I wanted. I did pay a $1000 deposit.
FYI- I have a Euro C Coupe brochure which I scanned.
It's too big to attach. I'm starting a webpage with some downloads...
including the C brochure...you'll enjoy it.
I also have the US C class brochure. Some nice pics of an Orion Blue coupe in the Southern CA desert on old RT 66 but not scanned that yet.
Note the "Evolution AMG" package in the Euro version, and use of the exact wheels I have now.

Did the Coupes come with the frosty Xenons as an option?

I like that AMG coupe with the dimpled euro bumper strips,
AMG bumpers, and AMG wheels....
yeh....
