Power Seat headache 2002 C Class
Someone out there must know how to fix this:
Power seat memory and all seat/headrest/steering wheel positions work fine. The problem is when you want to move the seat forward or backward, it will not work.
Q - Is there a simple resync for this?
Q- Does this appear to be a control module issue?
Q- Is this something completely different? If so, please assist.
Thanks in advance!

1999 CLK320 (sold), 2007 C230 SS (gone), 2000 Grand Marquis, 2011 CR-Z, stay tuned...
Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question, but I have been curious about this since I had problems with my last car. The seats would only move forward... when you pushed the control back, it when forward! (and of course forward went forward) I'd actually like to know so i can tell the guy who bought the car how to fix it.

It doesn't sound like you two have exactly the same issues. Obviously the motor in the seat is still good since it will move. It's a control unit issue for sure, but I can't help any further. Surely someone can.

Update
Someone has diagnosed this problem as a power seat control unit.
So far, no fuses are blown. The seat will move fore/aft when the memory button is pressed. The seat does not move fore/aft when you slide the lever. All other seat/steering wheel/headrest functions work.
Someone has to have experienced this problem and can offer a solution. I really do not want to hit the seat motor with a hammer.
