dont mean to correct other members.. just wanted to double check to see if we saw the same page. if we really wanted to get the big brake kit whether they be from AMG, Brembo, Kleenman, it really comes down to how much we are willing to pay for them.. i know the brabus kit is close to bout $14K

i dont think my car was cheap. i just didnt have the patience to wait any longer for the c32. and for others MB's are not cheap.. they are on the pricier side. if you opted for the coupe maybe it was because that was the only MB with the 6spd other than the slk? some like 2dr more than 4. just my thoughts...
I didn't buy it because I needed to get into a MB at any cost.
In fact, my loaner today was a C320. My impression? ehh. I'd love that engine in my coupe (I hear MB will solve that in about a year and you bet I'll be selling and buying a C320 coupe). I'd also love to figure out why bose screwed us coupe owners (have a listen to ours - we really got stiffed)... other than that I felt cramped, didn't like the look (each their own), missed the BIG sunroof and generally missed my car.
So... when I say cheap, I really meant the whole C series. Let's get real, our cars are cheap - for better or worse. Not cheap? -- See S600, S55, Z8, Ferari, Porsche 911 etc...

I think when I get the cash that I'll check into getting the AMG brakes.

The AMG braking system is always ready to deliver the necessary stopping power with its 345 x 30 mm internally ventilated perforated disk brakes at the front and 300 x 22 mm internally ventilated disk brakes at the rear.
The above is excerpted from the site I posted previously.
I am not sure, but the AMG brakes should be pretty much a bolt on project. You will need 17" wheels.

amg got some brembos for c32 ... i'd go with amg instead of going with brembo, simply because the f50 or lotus brembo brakes are mass aftermarket, the c32 is specific for the w203..just what i think. and can u say, "they're huge!!" in anycase, the c32 amg calipers require those nifty 17" rims...so much so that the spokes on the rims are actually wider than the lips...i think amg went a little too far for absolute clearance for those calipers. i saw a c32 with the tape still on it from the factory at the dealer service lot and b4 u know it, the left front rim already had nick on one of the spokes. i don't think the rim face should be in anyway sticking farther out than the wheel...just my 2 cents.

I know this thread is old, but I wanted to point out a quick detail that I overlooked. Although it is a 6-piston caliper, and large rotor, only half of the rotor is actually being used.

Yes, the 14" kit requires 18" wheels. If you prefer to keep the 17" wheels, you can go with a 13.1" kit, which is also a great kit. I've had both kits, and while I prefer the 14" (extra 2+ inches of rotor diameter per rotation), the 13" kit is definitely a great improvement over stock. Both kits use the F50 caliper, so the only difference is rotor size (and weight).
Whatever the size, any future car of mine will have a Brembo brake system on it.

Thanks for the response, Ben. I don't want to spend, and don't have, the money to upgrade the brakes and buy new wheels and tires. The C32 brakes would seem to be the best for my situation.

The C32 brakes are a great upgrade; especially for the cost. But depending on your driving habits, you may find yourself wanting a full Brembo kit down the road. The 13.1" Brembo kit is awesome, and would most likely provide more than enough stopping power for you.

Definitely brake fade, as well as a slightly shorter stopping distance for normal stops. For normal street driving, the C32 brakes should be sufficient. For track driving, they just don't last as long as a big brake kit would.
