restraint system drive to workshop

Got a message "restraint system drive to workshop" after replacing turn signal switch. I'm assuming this is happening because I had to disconnect the airbag to get to the turn signal switch.
I attached my OBDII scanner, but it doesn't show any trouble or pending codes.
Is there a way to reset this?
Or do I really have to drive (1 hour each way) to Mercedes and shell out some of my unemployment money?
Thanks,
Joe

Gave up, since there's no home fix for this, and went to the dealer. It costed me $85 for them to reset the SRS code. I'm satisfied.

If you turned the ignition key on before reconnecting the airbag (maybe to test the part you installed?) you would trip the message. That message must be removed by someone with SDS (presumably as a safety precaution). You need to find an indy for work like that.

No, I never put the key in at all. It must somehow register something with the computer that the airbag was disconnected (for a short period of time).

OK, but many others have done it without an error message.

Humm, just my luck! I definately didn't go near any ignition key while working on the car. I was adament about that. I figured, as long as I kept the car off, no codes would trip. This is a 2004 C320 4Matic. Would the model have anything to do with it?
Thanks,
Joe

Not that I know, but then again I'm not an expert. Did you watch them hook it up and clear the message or did they do it out of your sight? Also, from an electrical/electronic perspective just about anything is possible with cars today so I don't doubt you for a minute.

No, I pulled the car up to the service door, they took it and brought it back later, complete with a wash. The service door had a protective roof that reminded me of a hotel where the valet took your car. I guess when you pay 40-100 grand for a car, they take care of you.
O/T...
The dealership (Motorworld in Wilkes Barre, PA) was a multi-brand gigantic place. The largest dealership I've ever been to. When I arrived, it reminded me of driving through a major airport. The main road branched off with signs directing you to different brands and their respective service bays and showrooms.
