carlsson spoiler issues..

so after getting my wing i did a 1 hour job just putting hard *** adhesive. i dunno if i was too excited or im doing something wrong coz when i mounted it theres a gap on the third brake light.. but when i was fitting it there was none.. so im 100% sure its not a fitment thing.. what is the proper way of mounting this thing? left to right? vice versa? or center first? pissing me off coz now i have to remove the ashesive that i just put... then do it again..

i dunno if this will help... but when i mounted my renntech spoiler i made a slight mark on the car and on the spoiler to find the center... then i mounted the center first moving slowly and checking the sides along the way. seemed to work pretty well.

if you go left to right or vice versa... any small errors will propagate and most probably end up worse in the alignment in the end.

i think this is the tape i used: http://pcsound.stores.yahoo.net/mmm4011.html

and i ended up putting it on the entire length of the spoiler. since it sits on the corner... i put two strips of tape on the contact points which will touch the top and back of the trunk. this may be different for your spoiler though.

btw... i used nail polish remover to get the adhesive off... it really helps if you have any around.

goodluck!

i'm not sure about simple green. it seems to be more directed towards grease and stains.

im serious about the nailpolish. i play table tennis and have to remove glue reside when re-gluing and changing the rubbers. nail polish remover is commonly used for this. i actually bought my spoiler second hand and used nailpolish to remove the glue/tape that was on it and it helped. it still was a tedious job in the end.

and NO. it shouldn't have any gap.

it's replica, so I didn't care too much about it.

I think carlos is selling it from texas.

try putting a piece of corrugated plastic 1/8" there, but a piece of double stick on both sides of the corrugated plastic. I've done that to my ACS replica spoiler on my 5er
