Hi All,
New to the list and have a question! My disc changer is giving me fits. My head unit doesn't recognize that it exists. It was intermittent and now appears that the connection is lost....
Is there a way to reset it or is it toast????
Thanks! -Phil

1999 CLK320 (sold), 2007 C230 SS (gone), 2000 Grand Marquis, 2011 CR-Z, stay tuned...
This has been discussed in a couple of threads before... I think the method was to take the CD changer out. With it out, go to the CD input. Let it register no CD Changer. Then put it back in with a CD in it, and let it try to read that. Also make sure you are using a store-bought CD, and not a burned one.
I'm not sure on this, so you might want to give the forum a search for the thread this was discussed in.

Check the fiber connections (the orange lines connecting the radio to the CD changer), maybe one jiggled loose?
Either that, or you have a crappy changer. These things are known to die, especially the models made in China. If this is the case, find the MC3010 (A### ### 90 89) built in Hungary. Good luck.
