What's the cut-off for "OG" status, out of curiosity? Meet attendance? I have yet to see any MBWorld social gatherings!

^ Posting, the OGs from way back, like 2003/2004.5

anyone with a 2006+ would not be considered an OG I'm guessing.

If you were a member of the old Ccoupe forums then you are real OG.

Those were the days.

lol, I remember those days, those are the true OGs. There were less "restrictions" at terry's forum.

Don't worry Carlos, even though ur thread is gone, we all remember how it looked back in the days!

As a newbie on this forum and a senior staffer on others, I can tell you that newbs are inevitable. Short of unsustainable measures there is no way around it. Expecting anything else is unreasonable.

I definitely understand the issue that people register for a single purpose and have no interest in researching their problem before posting a new thread that inevitably yields a "STFF!" response. It's very annoying, especially to people that have taken the time to learn by trial and error, time consuming internet searches, and built relationships over time.

However, getting worked up over this is a waste of time. There are forum tools (such as the CP) to help you track the threads that are important to you. If you want to find the new, and potentially useful, threads you're going to have to wade through the ****.

You guys seem like a great bunch, especially the people that have been here a while. Their posts have been very helpful to those of us newbies that are actually interested in learning. Please remember - we are all new at some point. Granted, some of the new people are idiots, but that can't be helped. All I'm asking is that you give new people a chance before you jump down their throat. They can't all be bad, can they?

I just miss the good ol' days, i'm just tired of people posting up the same freakin thread everyday, and because of that, i'm slowly becoming inactive.

the good ol' days, there were more interesting post, like Carlos' coupe updates with gaiex's updates there as well!

Jose's custom CF intake, my vinyl updates, Nick's marine board lips, Mike+Frank+Robert's wheel galore, drex's fastest 271, blake ****ting on everyone who doesnt have a dumped car, Jordan's constant name change, Tommy's smurf, etc.

Do I qualify?
Back from Big Sur.
My Remus muffler came un welded right where it goes into the muffler.
Got towed < 100 miles...thanks AAA.

Shop welded it for 50 bucks, noticed the tranny connection was leaking, replaced the
oring piece, messy job, the tranny fluid ran down my arm, couldn't get it to line up dammit! I hate working on my back in confined space.
So thats done, replaced the door stop, one side was broken the metal completely snappped, but then I broke off the bolt on one side of the new one...need to drill out the old one, or easy out it...if the EZ out doesn't break off, had that happen, and then yer f'd.
Put on the AMG oil cap from the C63 17 bucks....
I like Annapolis MB for parts...they don't rape you on shipping.
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...60&catalogid=0

Took their sweet time though...
also got a new cover for the front of the engine, the one covering the cam sensor.

Need to clean the interior, do the leather, and wax...if I could find the time.....

The shop also pointed out a leak in the head from underneath near the exhaust manifold, external water leak? No water in the oil at this point...say I need a new head gasket?
Hmmmm.....I wonder if could just retorque it?
It's running fine....maybe just ignore it? Small leak at this point....

The cap should be the same as any other AMG cap. Carlos had a part number for it.

I'm sure that's not the only reason.

Yes, Gary; they're much better than what I had before.

I've been working more on my crx recently; had the rust taken care of in the rear wheelwells again (third time in 17 years of owning it), front fenders rolled for clearance (5mm spacers due to Wilwood/VW Corrado rotor mod), shift linkage swapped out, and other stuff. Now all I have remaining is to have the cam regrinds and titanium springs/lifters put on, and I'll switch back to the Benz. Have puddle lights, a new tach for the a pillar, and some other little goodies to install - always sumthin'!

Though the traffic is definitely slowing down here; mostly fixing stuff now instead of modding. Once I'm down 60 lbs, I'm switching to an S2K.

tommy how did they roll the fenders? i had a guy at a bodyshop the other day tell me that in order to roll the fenders you put a baseball bat in between wheel and wheel well and freaking drive back and forth?? hellllll no

doesnt a heat gun to the plastic and then push on it work?

The fender's metal on the crx (the plastic lining inside of it was cut back). I'm not sure exactly how they did it, but generally you do use a heat gun, but a fender rolling tool works better than a baseball bat.

I'm picking up the car tonight; I'll ask him how he did it.
