Lightbulb 03-04 C230 SS Ceramic Brake Pads & Drilled and Slotted Rotors

I just got these ceramics pads and cross drilled & slotted rotors installed, and seem great so far. MUCH LESS brake dust. The brakes feel good and stop well.

Please note: when you press the brake pedal lightly, ceramic pads don't grab as hard as an OEM pad will. But once you put some more pressure on the pedal, they bite really hard. It takes a little getting used to, and this is the normal nature of ceramic pads.

For those of you with a 2003-2004.0 C230 Sport Sedan, 2001-2005 C240's (non-4Matic) and 2001-2004 C320's, this same setup will work for you.

I've already had the Hawk Ceramic Front pads on my car for 2 years and about 55,000 miles on them, and they are still about 85% thickness. Ceramic Pads seem like they should last at least 200,000 miles. The Ceramic Pads eat up the OEM MB rotors pretty bad though (I put new OEM rotors with the Hawks, are now the rotors are starting to warp). I would suggest going with a different cast iron rotor to last longer than the OEM rotors. I also don't like how the OEM rotors have the grey painted finish all over that gets removed from the initial braking on the the new rotors. I think the grey paint caused the initial squeeling problems with I first got the Hawk ceramic pads. After a month, the squeeling went away and haven't had any squeeking since.
