Why don't we meet at Carlsbad Raceway. Who ever wants to can run 1/4 mile runs and other's can just watch. I think it's $10 to get in, another $12 to race.

I agree, even though my car isn't a track star. If you guys want to meet in Temecula, Hwy 76 is just a few miles south!

http://www.northcountycruisers.com/vallecitotrip.html

Check that link, lots of good roads in the area.

That Vallecito run looks good, but would be much better if it got off 76 and took Mesa Grande Rd. into Santa Ysabel

Sure, just depends on the day, my kids got softball for the next 6 Saturdays, so Sunday is better. To me there's only 2 twisties in So Cal worthy, the angeles crest highway and the ortega and only the Ortega is close to San Diego. If that means ending up in Temecula then that's fine. 76 heading east past 15 is OK but not that twisty.

Maybe you just haven't been on the other good ones.

Mesa Grand is more fun than Ortega, but shorter.
Pines to Palms Hwy has some nice hairpins, but you end up in Palm Springs.

The Vallecito run actually makes a nice trip and Julian is great place for lunch.

... and I'm sure there are some more

The Vallecito link I posted was merely for reference; I am not suggesting we do a run of that length, but we could.

Another good one:

I did not know you were looking for a good road to travel. If you get down to San Diego one weekend and want to have fun, drive from Julian through the mountain range that Green Valley has to offer. I love to drive that stretch of road, it is great if you got the stomach for it. The Benz will not dissapoint your driving needs.

To be honest, I'm not actually too interested in a spirited drive cause I just sold my RX-7 and the C240 isn't really anywhere near as fun, but if you guys are gonna have a GTG somewhere afterwards, I'll be there

I've been on roads scarier than the Ortega, heck I owned a cabin by Lake Gregory, I know what it's like to drive mountain roads, still prefer the Ortega for the wild ride.
