Hmmm....pretty good. I probably wouldn't do it, but long ago I decided the world would be a pretty boring place if everyone liked the same things I did; and it would make my car hard to find in the parking lot. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I think they will look good, especially with the color on your car.

well im sure the pics he took were under full compression, and turning the wheel doesn't change the position of the rim in relation to the strut, well, not enough to make that rub. i doubt.

Read post#2 of this thread where I tell you the correct size lug bolts you would need,... even though you didn't ask for it at the time! (ie: post #3)

From that ebay site, it's tough to figure out the ball seat size. Especially since that ebay seller is using the same generic photos of the same chrome lug bolts when selling various lug bolts of different sizes.
![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Since that site says those lug bolts are for VW and Audi,... I would guess that they're the wrong ball seat since most VW and Audi now uses R14 ball seats. Good news is some older VW & Audi uses R13 ball seat before,... so a good place to look would be at the parts counter for Audi & VW.
![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Mercedes-Benz uses 3 different ball seat sizes (R12, R13, R14) for various class of cars. The SL-Class uses R13 whereas C-Class (W203) uses R12,... since you're putting SL-Class wheels onto C-Class you need to match the R13 ball seat of the SL-Wheels.
R12 ball seat has 12mm radius. R13 ball seat has 13mm radius. And yes,.... R14 ball seat has 14mm radius. R12 ball seat with 12mm radius is about size of an American quarter,... that's what the wheels on C-Class (W203) uses. R13 ball seat with 13mm radius is about size of that American dollar coin with the indian woman carrying a baby,... that's what the wheels on SL-Class uses.
Because you need lug bolts with some characteristics from C-Class and others from SL-Class,... these hybrid lug bolts will be tough to find.
![Rant](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rant2.gif)
RAD (which are German made and not those cheap China crap) does have something very close,... 40mm shank is too long (since without spacers you would need about 27mm) and may damage the parking brake mechanism in the rear,... but maybe you can find a machine shop to cut it properly.

^^ i emailed the ebay dude for the bolts and this is what he wrote
"These are either R12 or R13. I'm not sure. All bolts we sell have the same R size and we didn't have any complaints before"
i sent him another e-mail to check it for me... its hard to find these online... i really dont want to have to cut the RAD bolts.. :/

Interesting,.... since the ebay ad states it's for Audi & VW,.... since Audi & VW uses R14 or R13 (and not R12 to my knowledge),... it's more likely to be the correct R13 ball seat size that you need.

It's a very easy check,.... just have the ebay dude compare the ball seat of the lug bolt to an American quarter and American dollar coin,.... R12 ball seat with 12mm radius is about size of an American quarter,.... R13 ball seat with 13mm radius is about size of that American dollar coin with the indian woman carrying a baby.

^^ haha.. thats the exact way i told him to check (thanks to you).. i will let you know how it goes.. oh if i need 27mm bolts for the wheel without spacers or anything... would i need to get 33mm(all the have) for the rear since i plan on putting 5mm spacers?

No problem,... just post some pics when you're done. And let folks know where they can get the lug bolts since there seems to be a number of folks interested in putting SL wheels onto W203,... at least now they can do it safely using the correct lug bolts.
If 27mm was originally correct without spacers,... than 32mm would be perfect with 5mm spacers,... but 33mm should be fine too.
When you get the lug bolts, test it,... make sure the ball seat sits in the wheel fully and properly. When you bolt on those lug bolts, you should need 6 full rotation of the lug bolts. That's very important,... basically all Mercedes-Benz with factory wheels need about 6 full rotation to get the correct torque (handy to know if you don't have torque wrench handy).
This is how deep the the lug bolts holding your wheels are going into your car,... 6 full rotation is less than half an inch of the lug bolts,... closer to 1cm!!!!
BTW,... never ever use your original c-class 39mm shank lug bolts with these SL wheels,... way too long,... unless you want to risk damaging your rear parking brake mechanism. In your first post where you were test fitting the SL wheels,... if you had tires on them and took them for a spin, you'd probably be posting asking how to fix your rear parking brake mechanism!![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
You see, the original lug bolts for those SL wheels were thicker (14x1.5 thread) than our W203 (12x1.5 thread),... and those SL wheels are bigger and heavier too,... AMG wheels are NOT light-weight,... probably about 25 lbs,... add tires and we're talking close to 45-50 lb each! The lug bolts for our C-class are thinner than those for SL,... Sure those chrome lug bolts are pretty,... but I do respect what FrankW has to say about them being weaken by the chroming process,... as such,... make sure you inspect those chrome lug bolts each time you change wheels for summer tires and winter tires. And never use chrome lug bolts in winter when driving in salted snow areas,... road salt will damage the chrome. This applies to chrome wheels as well,... you'd be surprise at what I see around town in the winter time!

"I bought a 98 Vulcan 1500 Classic with 6,700 miles in June. The owner took vey good care of it and put every piece of chrome on he could.
Lately I noticed it taking more effort on left turns and a slight vibration. Further inspection showed the top of the left fork tube sticking up about 7/16" above the bridge. I posted in the mechanics forum and got directions on how to repair it. The reply said it should never happen.
Long story short the previous owner put chrome fork covers on including chrome bolts and either the chrome came off the bolt threads or the chrome/aluminum combination corroded and ruined the threads.
Talked to my local dealer and he said they have had a lot of problems with chrome bolts and aluminum housings. Look like my winter project is to replace all the chrome bolts."
I also read similar reports on other car forums about the chrome flaking off and causing corrosion. i think its best to go with RAD and cut.

when are you mounting these jokers...lets go,
and plz take good pics showing fitment(front to back or vice versa), like you already did, but you know, with tires mounted up will be more helpfuller.
thanks.

yeah i have like barely a finger gap in the front.. well if i do get spacers ill get like 5mm at most because i want the rim to sit more flush against the body.. like it does in the front.. with a 5mm spacer the rear will be like 28 offset and front is 30..
but yeah all depends on the tires i get.. im trying to get some real cheap for now but i might get some from my friend.. 255 35 18 yokohama s drives... dk yet

hey man... i got in contact with an official RAD dealer and here is his response to the bolt fitment:
The 2003 SL took a 14mm bolt and the wheels are drilled to take an R14 ball seat. The 18 inch Turbine wheel is drilled for an R14. Your C class uses a 12mm bolt and the OEM wheels are drilled to accept an R12 ball seat. With this in mind, what you need is a 12mmx1.5 bolt so they thread properly into the hub of the C class and it needs to have an R14 ball seat so it seats properly in the SL wheel. The only other thing to consider is shank length. You seem to be sure it is 27mm. We have this bolt configuration in a 26mm shank. The link to this item on the website is below. I will be around the office for another 30 minutes or after 10am PST. I hope this helps.
