Plus I don't want to blow them again by under powering them, which im assuming is what happend to my stock ones, hence why i figured i needed an amp...but how can i get an amp to successfully power 6 speakers w/o under powering them? even powering 4 speakers the most RMS I've found for a decent price is 50 watts...
On the Bose thing. My G37 had the Bose Studio-On-Wheels system. It's 11 speakers. It was amazing and the 135's system doesn't even come close. I'm not sure why Bose has so many haters.. I've had it in a few cars and it's always been fantastic with one glaring exception - a Pathfinder.

no highs no lows, it must be Bose.
Of course, this coming from someone who had the Bose system in a 2002 car.
I too think this may be a headunit issue. Sounds like the tunes are a big issue for you.
Scrap the stock headunit and build up, one piece at a time.
Try some of car audio forums, buy from high rep members and piece together a system. Just like us, those guys go through speakers and amps like no ones business.

and I have already posted this question about an aftermarket amp etc in the audio forum and of course no one answers in there...
but ya once I get time I'll ahve to pull apart my dash and see where the pressure is being applied to the wires that is effing up my signal....i feel as if it is from my ipod adapter b/c that is currently sitting behind my HVAC control unit (as well as my ipod amplifier since MB is too cheap to include that into the ipod adapter itself)...
but ya any idea of this stuff would be covered under warranty
