AC out ... again

My AC was blasting cold when I went to go out to have breakfast with my brother. Get in the car to go home and AC was blowing full hot..never cooled down. I got home and immediately looked for my receipt on the repair done last year. It seems that it was repaired on 9/15/08. I am so glad that the repair has a 1 yr warranty. I will go to the repair place tommorrow in the AM to see if I can get it in ASAP.

I believe the problem is the stupid pulley on the AC compressor. There is a part on it that shears off so theat the serpentine belt will still rotate so you can drive the car. At least thats what happened last year. I think that it is BS that Mercedes cannot build cars that last. I only have about 6000 miles since the last replacement at 56000 miles. I can't afford to replace the AC compressor once a year, but I need it here in Las Vegas.

Warranty on the car was 50,000/5yr. AC went out the first time at about 52,000 miles and the dealer did not even offer any assistance. That's when I stopped going to my dealer for any maintenance or repair. I just go to the dealer for my free car wash and coffee.

man that sucks especially this time of year... I feel ya on the ac in vegas, I live in tx so it gets pretty toasty too... I use to roll without ac for a long time sweating like crazy in the texas heat. Hopefully you just need more free-on or something.

Kris, air conditioners don't "burn out" - regarldess of temps.
