I also topped the coolant up with MB stuff and distilled water.

On Friday, I took Marco's 330i for the day and he kept the Benz and cleaned it to showroom standards - it's never been so clean before (and I do keep it clean!). Sometime between my last post praising the 200k mile 330i and Friday it has came up with 9 DTCs on a CEL. I'll have to post those up if anyone wants to help me out with an analysis!

I'm trying to reach 100,000 by year-end.

Sometime Thanksgiving week it will be getting a transmission fluid/filter change (finally!) and then late December or early January I'm supposed to get Drew's 07 Sport rims and I'm going to buy a JB Speed AMG-sport spoiler as well.

I am completely overwhelmed at my new job and don't have much time to post anymore but I do still love the Benz.

Still on the DWS's? How many miles on them and how do they look?

The DWS tires are at 26,000 miles. Fronts are still showing OK for snow use. Rears show OK for Wet/Dry. Fronts have shoulder wear (typical for these cars) but not to an excessive point. Rears have center wear.. probably another 10,000 miles out of these.

I just installed my DWS last week. How are they in the snow? Reviews say that are good but i would like a personal opinion.

We actually got some (very rare) snow in GA a month after I got the DWS tires. The performance was fantastic. I drove it all around in the snow just to see.

sweet! First day of snow this year today, but it's light and not sticking. Once we get a good 4 inches or so, then I can really test them out.

Great thread, just passed 35k on my 2005... getting it back from B service, plugs, brake rotors, pads, and fluid. I keep it clean and drive it hard.. glad to see the brake service interval is reasonable to others. *rowing my gearbox daily*

Actually you were right. The Benz is far, far, far too complex/needy/nagging to be a male. It's definitely a she - and the only "she" I care to be in/ride/whatever.

Matt., glad to see your Benz is still holding up nicely at that mileage. Just hit 80K on mine last night. Still have an issue with the suspension, similar to yours that I will address shortly.

Now I really need a front bumper repaint. If the rock chips weren't enough, I swerved to miss a jackass sliding sideways through a parking lot, and tagged the curb. Bottom of the bumper looks horrible

Still love the car, and have no intentions of changing anytime soon.

As for the DWS's have almost 6K on the rears, and almost no wear. The Michelin Pilot A/S+'s on the front have essentially no tread on the shoulders and ~5/32 in the center. Will be replacing them shortly. Heading to Idaho for Thanksgiving, and will really be able to test the snow traction of these tires.

Thanks for the input, John. My car's mileage is really going up fast now. I've rotated the DWS tires across the axles at 6k 12k 18k and 26k miles so far. They're still not going to last a long time but I'd say that is just a characteristic. I do not intend to replace them with DWS again, though. I like to experiment.

I'm going to go back to HIDs, get LED license plate lamps, Drew's 07 Sport rims, a JBSpeed body-color 07-style spoiler, and considering 3000k HID fog lamps just to spice things up a bit while still appealing to my factory-look only tastes.

I already said this but I'm racing December 31st against 100,000. Not sure yet.. it's a close one.

I bought a fuel filter, 4 OEM Bosch plugs, a transmission mount, a 35w DDM 4500k HID kit w/error eliminators, and JBSpeed LED license plate lights for the Benz this morning.

What do you intend to go with? I have to give credit to my Sumitomo HTR A/S P01's. I have 11k on them with no wear at all, nice ride too. Went cheap bc I go through tires like crazy, the wife drives about 750miles a week.

I'm not sure yet. Probably General UHPs because the 07 rims I'm getting from Drew have good front ones, IIRC. I'll probably stick with those and put UHPs on the rear.

I'm at 105,000 miles now. I'm averaging 22,000+ miles year. Nothing has been fussy for me so far. I'm currently on Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions now. Love them.

I've liked the UHPs enough to buy them twice. My only observation is that they're a bit noisy under "spirited" driving/cornering. They're pretty darn cheap, too. I hope you like them.

Yea I'm extremely impressed with the wear of these. I've had them for 10,000 miles or so and they still look brand new.

The Sport sedans are much more aggressive with tires than the others.

I am really tempted to have Marco install 3000k 35W fogs. I think that would look great.

The 55w I had were good but I felt they ran too hot and it contributed to regular bulb failures. Finally, one partially melted and caused me to head back to halogens.

This kit cost $72 for shipping, error eliminators, and the kit itself. I did the install myself.
