Service Message Issue?

Hi,

Im getting a service message "Service "A" exceeded by *** miles" when i have already had service "A" completed but through my mechanic and not the dealer, So im guessing the mechanic didn't reset the computer miles timer or something of that sort.

Is there anyway to reset this miles timer/message?

Thanks!

If I recall correctly you have to scroll to the service interval (service A) section and hold the reset button for couple of seconds.
I believe this is done on the first click.

-----------------------------------------
Switch ignition on. The standard display of the control system appears. Press the up or down button on the multifunction steering wheel until the Service indicator appears in the multifunction display.
Press and hold the reset button for about four seconds. This message will appear in the multifunction display: SERVICE INTERVAL.... RESET WITH R BUTTON FOR 3 SEC.

Also, information can be found in the owner's manual. If you don't have one, they are downloadable online for free.

You won't find that in the owners manual. They deliberately make it a pain to reset the service reminder, especially after it is overdue.

See attached (you could have searched the forum for this, Nikic!)
This worked for me last time I changed my oil.

Ignition on, but not running.
Remaining miles to service displayed.
Press and hold the dash reset push button.
The following steps above worked for me, Instead of service "A" it moved right into Service B in **** amount of miles. Issue resolved.

Thanks for everyones help.
