for the guys that installed their LOC

hey guys.

im trying to install my system, i got everything for the install, i just dont know where i should place the LOC.. i was thinking maybe tapping into the 2 rear speakers and putting the LOC in the trunk? in that case i would need 2 long wires for each speaker, spiced into both the rear doors, but the wires would be so long?..

i rrealy dont know, thought this would be easy as cake but its not... benzs arent easy to rip apart..

where should the best location be? i was thinking behind the H/U but if i did that, i would still have to rip apart one of the rear doors to find out which wire is the right one..

any help would be great, would like to install this system asap befor i have my new work scedule up, i got lots of free time right now and its going to waste

someone please help. I've got my power wire installed already. Now I just need to know where to place the LOC(line output converter). Was thinking behind the deck. If I can get this set up with my fellow members help, I'd be glad to snap a bunch of shots and make a great DIY sub amp install with full details. Any help would be great!

I just don't want to do this the long way and take apart the center console, then take the two rear door panels off too check both rear/left and rear/right speaker wire colors so I could connect the LOC behind the deck. So is there a shorter less time xconsuming way to do this???

in the trunk is not a bad idea either. beside the fuse box. OR under the rear passenger seats. really depends on how you fixed everything.

you think the rear speaker wires would be in the trunk? If not I'm gonna have to splice it near the door panel and run a long wire to the LOC in the trunk. Not sure how I'm gonna do this. I think in the trunk would be less time consuming.

here's what i did. i took the whole interior out. seats, carpet, moldings, console, everything. i rewired the whole sound system with kicker wires. my amp is offcoarse in the trunk. ran the wires under the seats to the right side panels of the carpet behind the glove onto the HU. and the LOC's like i said earlier are put behind the clima control under the radio.. but now i changed to an after market HU so i rewired alittle more..

i know you dont wanna do the whole mumbo jumbo how i did it. but i think its best you put them same where i did. by the way are your LOC's adjustable?

here is a pic of the LOC i have. i think i'm going to just put the LOC in the trunk so i have easy access to adjust it. plus that way i will not have to take the center console apart

this is only necessary when your amp requires RCA inputs right? its not necessary for just wire clips right? Every amp I've seen Including my monoblock take speaker wire

Sup man... If you have AOL MSGER hit me up at c3a3yz00lnder... Ill be more then happy to tell you how to take apart your car.. and run wires to the loc.. The best way is if you have a subwoofer in the trunk.. I don't know if you you can run them from the rear speakers.
