So I got a 3 slat aftermarket grille for my car, stupid me was so excited to put it on, I didn't glue the damned star to the grille.. just put on the included fasteners and drove on. Well anyway, I lost it driving down the road the other day. ;-( I called the local MB dealerships and gave them the part #, apparently the star comes from a vehicle not sold in the US, and so they can't get the replacement star. Anyone know where I can get replacement or two?

these are easily found over here in belgium, i think if you know somebody who can get a hold of parts from European Merc's you'll have no problem ordering it.

they cost 16,10 € , tax excluded. (just checked it)

did the bolt on the back unscrew itself or something? i better glue mine on then...i did the same thing.

There was no bolt... it was a plastic post that went through a hole on the mount. Then i had these two slip on washer type things with teeth, so when you slide them on, the teeth grab and you can't slide them off. I figured that would suffice. But apparently not.

I would definitely suggest gluing the **** on. I went and got some epoxy glue so the next star wont come off at all. On the other hand, that might make it difficult to switch from a silver to a black star since I plan on buying two and painting one of them.
