Unhappy Bumper Cover/Reinforcement Problem

Hey MBWorld, Im Richard Williams and I just purchased my first Mercedes Benz, Im sure that it will not be my last. Ive been lurking around and felt that it was time that I join the crew. Hopefully you guys can answer the questions that I have. Thanks in advance for the replies..

I just purchased a 2005 C230 Kompressor. The car was involved in an accident, the Passenger side of the car suffered some damage to the fender, and the Passenger radiator support that holds the aluminum cross bar that goes across the radiator.

The person that I purchased the car from bought all of the replacement parts, Air Bags, Bumper Cover Reinforcent ect. The problem is that the Reinforcement isnt fitting the car. I thought that all of the plastic reinforcements were the same and now this is turning into a big head ache. The Bumper Cover doesnt have the AMG styling, will it still fit or do I have to purchase the 05+ Bumper Cover aswell?...

correct...i had a Lux bumper, took it apart and installed the AMG cover over the reinforcement....there were only minor changes to the bottom part of the reinforcement that needed to be done...i would say max of 15 mins of work...90% of the reinforcement fitted the new cover

Could you give me a list of some of the things you did as far as modding the reinforcement?

Thanks

i mean its not rocket science. There were few cuts that i had to make in the reinforcement, i think most of it was in the lower, below the fog and center mesh areas... i can take a look at it to recall it tonight and let you know
