Fuelling Pro!???
Guys,
This has happen to me sooooooo many times that i don't think it is the station's problem anymore!
Everytime i pump gas into my car...it over fills!...whats wrong with it?!..is there something wrong with the sensor? or??
please advise

i made a thread about it a while ago. i went to the dealer to have it checked and they told me to come back when i diden't have a full tank. only i never went back.
one time it overflowed so much it did not stop pouring down the car and i could swear it made a 5 foot long puddle under my car. the rest of times were not so bad. even if it did not overflow down the car, it will overflow on the hole and go in the little over flow tube. i just filled up my car yesturday and for the first time in months it did not overflow AT ALL. i will eventually go back to the dealer to have it all checked out.

not a fueling pro...but....
The gas station fuel fill nozzle is where the overflow should be caught. There is no sensor in the car that stops fuel overflow. Also...there are posts about excessive overflow damaging the fuel return charcoal filter and leading to engine problems and a repair bill.

I use to have the same problem with my Grand Cherokee if I wasn't careful. I had to get the nozzle in deep enough and at the right angle for it to kick off (jeez that sounds dirty!). Since then, I've never trusted the auto-on clip/lever. I always hold it and watch when it gets close. It's either not in deep enough, or the pump isn't calibrated right to shut off when it should. BTW-I've never had a problem with my Coupe.

We have pretty complex fuel pump hoses in So Cal that require recovering fumes so if a pump did that it would get fined heavily by the South Coast Air Quality Management District that licenses the pump vapor recovery systems. So I never heard of that here unless there was something really wrong with the pump. Find a station that's compatible with your car.
