Wow you gotta love a newbie who comes in and already starts running his mouth to people who have been on this site longer. Just because you overpaid for an almost 8 year old Mercedes doesnt give you bragging rights. If you would have paid 15k then you should have bought a newer one. Just my 2 cents.

no car that has that low miles and is that old is perfect it is going to need some stuff done to it. oil change, trans fluid, rear diff, Tires?, houses, belts, fuel filter, air filter and so on. i am not trying to pick a fight or anything just trying to help. moving on it is not good to come in here and even if you are provoked to pick a fight with a senior member. next time just change the subject and move on. once you get to know some of the very active members you will be fine but until you get your post count up i would be careful. you came to a very good place to get any problems you have worked out. i would trust some of the members here more than any dealer thats for sure. btw please read your owners Manuel and all the sticky's at the top or you will not make any friends. if you don't have an owners Manuel you can get a pdf version on Mercedes web site. gl with your mods and post some pics NOW!
and yes only use mobile one 0-w40 European spec or something like that it will say approved for Mercedes on the back and use only a fleece oil filter not the paper crap.

Looking at his IP I determined his approx zip and matched your found kbb value for private party. I then went back and added every conceivable option and looked at dealer retail, his bank number I presume, and still could not match the value shown by him. Unless the bank of course went with a very outdated kbb paper copy.

I'm a "noob" to this particular forum but apparently for good reason. Nearly every post initiated by someone who has not previously made hundreds of posts gets flamed. What gives? Is it really that important to the "senior" members to prove you're right and everyone else is wrong? Your comments are not constructive - the OP already bought the car; it's not like he's going to return it because you are all convinced he could have bought it for less. What are you hoping to accomplish by criticizing someone for a past decision? And why would someone posting hundreds of mean posts merit more deference than someone who has posted 10 sincere posts? Anyway, I continue to be astounded by the handful of "senior" posters who post condescending and rude comments and then get cheesed when someone calls them on it.

How did I miss this thread?! $13k for a 2002 C240? Driven by an old woman who upgraded to AMG rims? It's all just so funny! The very idea that a car barely driven for 8 years is a good idea is funny, too. Cars are meant to be driven and I'm highly skeptical of one that hasn't been.

Everyone overpaid for their cars so dont get butthurt when somebody else points out the obvious. You already bought the car and you have money (actually you dont have money because you had it financed).
What they probably want to emphasize is you could have gotten a better car for 13k like a 2005 w203 (no new mods needed since it's already beautiful) or a c32amg for a few more bucks.
Last thing I want to do is **** off members here, people that will really help me specially if Im driving an old c-class with tons of problems.
