Odd question about resetting service light?

How come I don't see the option of 'STANDARD OIL' or 'OIL QUALITY 229.5' when I reset my service light?.....BTW, it is 2005 C230k!

What options do you see?
On my car I only have 1 option (I forget what it says).

You only see those options if you are resetting the oil w/ the more complicated method through "dyno mode" (I've posted the PDF before, it's floating around).

I don't see any option but reset service interval when I reset it. I don't know how to reset it through dyno mode but I'd like to know!

I don't think our cars are equipped with that.
I know for sure mine isn't.

It does say "The Selection option may vary depending on the engine"

I see maybe your engine ONLY takes the Standard and Doesn't have an option to change? Maybe these are for Diesel engines?

229.5 is the recommended oil for gas engines, 229.3 is the old one, and 229.51 is diesel, I believe.

I don't have this option.

Thanks Karo! That's what i'm looking for.

Anybody know.....what's the difference between those options?
Does it change the service interval or something?
