BrabusCclass... Could you eloborate on what the illumination is like on the 9000k kit in comparison to the stock halogen setup?

Most people can see better in white light rather than blue light, but blue looks neat.
Since I personally do not care how I "look" to other drivers (as long as I am not blinding them) the stock Mercedes HID (which I believe are 6000 K (??) are perfect for me.

It has nothing to do with the temperature rating. We all have the same OSRAM HID bulb.
Take a look at this website for more info on HIDs: HID FAQ
One thing, DaBeze - unless you are in it purely for looks - DON'T go with "blue" halogen bulbs. You WILL get poorer vision. I went through that on my 993, and finally upgraded to the "real" thing, mostly for safety reasons!
However, TomGuy, I don't see how the projector design would make a difference in color - I'll read the FAQ.
But just a warning for all those all there, 6000k HIDs produce less lumens than a 4300k so it's a matter of if you're looking for looks or usability. I prefer to have more light on the road. That's why HIDs were created right? Not to blind other people with a purple beam.
I've tried the 6000k kits and even a 5300k kit. They don't produce the same amount of light as a 4300k. The 4300k will probably look more yellow but it all depends on your housing. I've noticed the lexus are very good at their light dissipation and produce a nice white beam.
Thanks, TomGuy - I've never actually seen a rating on the OEM lights, and I just took the lowest number I'd heard about. 4300K sounds reasonable given the light I see in front of me - I've dealt with K values as a photographer and videographer.

Projector lens are ideal for HIDs for their wide dispersal pattern and sharp cutoffs. Reflector lenses, in my opinion, blinds people. Reflector takes a lot more designing to disperse the light thus it's more difficult to get a good beam by retrofitting a halogen reflector housing.
Honestly more than anything, it depends on housing and if its projectile lense. HIDs seem to work a lot better with Projectiles. You guys say the you cant see anything with 9000K but come to LA and Ill show you on the A4. You see everything much better. I have 4800K in a civic and you cant see squat. The 7500K in my mercedes is ok but its nothing near as good as on a JDM conversion integra. I have put in HIDS in all sorts of cars, and no matter what you think its all about the housing. Without the right housing your beam will be dispersed and will look very poor. My OEM C43 xenons SUCK. I hate them the most. I cant see anything thats over 1-2 feet in front of the car.
