Multicontour Seat...worth it?

Is the multicontour seat worth the $470 MB wants for it? Exactly how much more adjustability do you get? I've got a pretty long commmute to work and wouldn't mind the extra comfort it provides (if any).

IMHO, the multicontours are well worth the added cost. My car (CLK55) has them, my wife's (E320S) does not. My daily commute is 82 miles each way, and we do Disneyland at least twice a month (90 miles each way).

I have an arthritic condition that affects my lower back and neck -and my daily commute with the multicontours is LOTS more comfortable than the Disneyland trips without.

The dual-adjustable lumbar support cushions alone are worth it for me - they greatly add to my comfort, and the help concentrate the heat from the butt warmer right where I want it. The extra lateral support of the multicontours is quite useful when tossing my 55 around a bit, too :p

It is no-doubt worth it. Why skimp on something that will make you much more comfortable at a cost that is 1% of the cost of the rest of the car?

This option approaches the only real value that the sport package delivers at a fraction of the cost (better lateral support in the seats is the only real value of the sport package, IMHO). When autocrossing my C240/6 I pump up the lateral support cushions and am held firmly in place during competition.

As a side-bar, I have done some investigation and found that the sport suspension on the W203 sedans list the same part numbers for springs, dampers and sway bars as my non-sport version. I think, despite the showroom brochures claim, that the sport package is all fluff. I also measured the ride height of a sport package car at the dealer the other day and found that my car actually sat about 5mm lower, front and rear, than it (could have been a difference in the fuel in the tanks, mine was full).

The lumbar supports are also very nice on longer drives.

I have it in my car...and I like it...It just happened to be the only major option on the car when I bought it....but I would order it if I had to start from the beginning...makes the seat that much more comfortable....

That's the price for the option when ordered, not the price of a retrofit. Is that possible? I'm sure in that case it would cost much more.
