Don't know who said that but with a stock C230 coupe I lost .1 HP with K&N and gained 1 HP with ITG. With the additional boost from a pulley kit I got 3HP gain with K&N and slightly more with ITG. It's up to you but I doubt that in a stock C240 you will see much gains but I don't expect you will see any loss either. The factory filter will be changed for you at the 4 year/50K service. You may want to consider getting a factory filter earlier like at 2 years because it looks pretty dirty at that point and this way you won't lose power.

There was some guy that had a dyno of his C32 with the ITG the lost about 6HP from stock. Now I know a drop in filter isn't going to do much, but I dont want to lose power. I'm sure the results are differn't from the Kompressor engine's then the NA 240 and 320 engines.

I am using BMC on my C32 right now....I havent dyno'd it b4 and after but I am pretty sure the car feels smoother and stronger on high end. I will strongly recommend BMC.

I'm getting a couple of ITG & test them out this week. I shall post my feedback afterwards.

On a normally-aspirated motor, the gains from an air filter change are more dramatic - I felt like a sucker, but I bought and put K&N recently on mine and I was really surprised by the power gain. When the aspiration is manipulated by a turbo or supercharger, that manipulation is so great in comparison to the effects of a different air filter that the air filter change makes little, if any, difference....
