SRS light out of no where/another question..
Hello Hello again,
My SRS light came on on Monday in the afternoon driving to a local burger joint at lunch. I did not have any accidents as far as i've owned the car (Oct 2007). I wouldn't know where to start diagnosing the cause of this problem or light to come on. Any suggestions?
Also, i just changed out my brake pads yesterday with Akebonos Ceramics. I've done the bedding in process (light braking for a few minutes, then 8 close stops (60-10mph) break-ings. I still feel the pedal a little "mushy" and it takes a tiny tiny bit more effort to stop. Do i need to bleed the brake system? If so, what is the best way to do this spending as little as possible while getting dealership or pro shop results?
Summary:
-Need to know why SRS light came on and how i can get rid of it.
-Changed brakes, now what is left after bedding process and how to bleed brakes properly with little $$$ spent.
Thanks for your inputs in advance!
Chris

I've had the SRS come on for no reason, but it's always gone away when I turn off the car and start up again.
I switched to ceramic pads this summer as well. The ceramic brakes have a different feel than the OEM. They don't have as sharp of a 'bite' and it takes some getting used to. I don't know if this is universally true, but your experience and mine seem to be similar.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Ceramics aren't as aggressive and don't have the bite of metallic, but they have less dust. A bleed wouldn't hurt. I can't help with the SRS problem but am interested to see what it ends up being. Remember, with the SRS light on, no airbags or seat belt pretensioners will fire. Limit driving until you can fix it. At least I would, I know first hand the value of proper working SRS.

I ended up buying a Motive Euro Power Bleeder for the bleeding process. So that's taken care of when the product arrives
Now, im still having the SRS light issue.
Any responses are appreciated! Thanks guys!
