W203 (C220 CDI)
W203 Comand 2.0 install issues
Hi Everyone,
I'm new here. I couldn't find an answer via the search, hence the new thread.
I have just retrofitted an A203 Comand 2.0 unit to my W203 (pre-facelift) C Class C220 CDI using an adapter cable from Comand Online. I've managed all the panels, connections and fitting okay but that still leaves me with a number of issues that I wasn't anticipating.
1) The Comand unit doesn't turn off with the ignition.
2) The steering wheel controls, e.g. volume, don't work.
3) The dashboard instrument cluster reads Audio ----, rather than Audio ON/OFF, etc.
4) the buttons on the Comand unit don't do what they say on them, e.g. the mute button opens the TV menu and the TV button mutes the sound, the zoom out (Minus sign button) accesses the CD menu, the i button (info) accesses the radio menu.
5) Whilst I can pick up satellites and my co-ordinates move as I drive, my position doesn't change on the map.
I have been into the diagnostics menu [MUTE]+[1]+[3] and done a reset but this has not fixed my problems (versions of my software/hardware are shown below).
Any advice would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Bill

Did you find any answers?
I just found myself in the same boat (except that all the buttons work as they should)
If you figured out how to fix the problems, please share the information.
Thanks

MMm is speed pulse enabled.... meaning does your nav when its booted jump all over the place... or stay in one place and not really update? If so that means your canbus isn't hooked up, also you need to enable the navi feature through the star system for the cluster

If you have the problems I have (except the transposed buttons) then it strongly suggests a Canbus problem. Double check the adapter is FULLY seated (the grey swing arm must be FULLY down before you push it in).
Hope that helps.
