How is the bulb removed? I got past the cap, but does it twist and then pull out? or pull out straight?

twist, then pull out... should be fairly simple

^ Yup, twist the ring then pull it out. Note the indents of the lamp surround as you pull the old bulb out so you can align the new one the same way. If you do it right it takes less than 5 minutes / pair. But if you do not align the indents it will make life very difficult.

Yeah. The directions in the owners manual aren't too great. Just twist then pull. Be careful when putting it back in.

I recommend wearing mechanic's gloves, to avoid any possibility of touching the bulb with your fingers.
