Need More HP!! C230K Sedan

What would be a good chip for a c230? i need hp. What other chips are there in the market? I know they have a chip for highering hp, but what else?

Do they make intake for the c230? if so, give me the link.

The C230 Sport Sedan has only been out for a few weeks. Its 1.8L M271 engine is also new, having only been in the C-Coupe since the 03 model launch. Chipping the M271? Its a bit early to expect to see chip mods for the 1.8.

KLEEMAN is working on pulley, and a larger intercooler would be required to get full use out of the extra boost. A cold air intake and exhaust should net you a few extra HP as well.

Jack, don't know of any performance mods that are out yet for the 1.8L, takes time to do testing. Your best bet may be the only mod I know of that will translate from the 2.3L, the intercooler. Some say that the 1.8L puts out a lot more boost than the 2.3L and they share the same IC so there maybe a big benefit from a a more effecient IC. Too see if that mod will do you any good I can hook up a scanner and boost gauge to your car and check intake air temps to see if doing this type of mod will buy you anything, afterall, you don't want to spend that kind of money and have nothing to show for it. I'm in O.C., if you want to go out for some quick sprints I can measure this for you, I'm sure others on the forum with your motor would be interested. Of course not this weekend, the rain won't make for a good test. E-mail/PM me if you're interested.

2003 C 230K Sedan
Lightbulb What the?

To my understanding... You don't even have a car yet right?

Have you even driven the C230K Sedan yet? I see your other post "C230 or C240 which one is better?..." Posted on 3-12... Then not a day later on 3-13 your posting "Need more HP!.."

Did you make a purchase?

I don't think you have, because if you had you would not be so quick to be asking for more HP. If you take the time to put some miles on a new C230K Sedan you will find that it has ample power in stock form (at least enough to keep you entertained until the aftermarket catches up with the new engine). If you would only just go drive it first, that is the key.

The C230K Sedan is only a tick behind the 320 Sedan in terms of performance (Mid 15 second 1/4 Vs low 15 second 1/4). Ya think that will do for ya?

Need more HP? I think its "Need to buy one" first.

heheheh...i like Michael's reply. case closed. although there is someone else who claims that the c230k sedan (AUTO) run 0-60 6.9 sec! He also closed the case not to argue with him b/c he has a g-tech and he owns a Porsche. We seem to have ALOT of MB folks that make a statement, then say dont argue with me b/c I own a Porsche as well

That's not impossible if the dowhill was long and steep enough. There's some moutain passes in the LA area that can get a Yugo to 60 in 6.9 sec.

I am going to git off my tush and buy one this week so I can see what's the deal with the auto. Some friends and myself are reserving the drivers course at the raceway so that will be pretty nice to use the gtech comp to gather data. What do you guys speculate the 0-60 w/ auto truly is?

I would say in stock form 7.6 sec. Just a guess. I drove an Auto C230 and a 6spd. The 6spd allways felt faster.

Wasn't that the 1.8L C Coupe Auto reach 0-60mph in 7.7sec? I assume the C230K sedan weights more than the C Coupe; therefore, I don't think it will be faster than 7.7sec.

If you go by the mbusa.com website, the 4 banger in the sedan with the slush box can get to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds.

The sedan weighs less than the coupe.

Coupe: manual 3250 lbs, automatic 3280 lbs.

Sedan: manual 3185 lbs, automatic 3230 lbs.

That's funny that it's lighter yet slower to 60 mph, must be either in the gearing or ecu differences that make the sedan a little smoother (like shift points and such) in return for a slightly slower ET. For those that don't want to travel to mbusa.com, with a slush box, the coupe is 7.5, sedan is 7.8 to 60 mph.
