UUC Shifter Project
UUC Shifter Project
Since it's been a while since I've updated everyone, here's the latest.
The Service Manager has managed to find the part number for both C7 and standard shifters including the various cable assemblies (shifter is cable driven). Given the different parts between the packages I guess I'm now convinced that C7 has a built in shorter shift.
Since the Service Manager in on what we're up to, he's working on trying to gather more information from the regional guy so he can provide accurate information. So far, based on what he's found, this project could prove to quite difficult if not impossible.
In my last conversation with him it looks like we might run into issues with the reverse lock out on the shifter. Not having seen the assembly myself, it was a little difficult to follow over our phone conversation. The next chance I get (when he has the time) I'm going to go in and see if I can look at some diagrams etc. I also hope to find out what additional information he was able to gather and will report back.
