Please Help...M271 Question!

Hello All,

I just purchased a 2003 C230K with 40,000 miles on it. I took it to my mechanic to get his opinion and it has a transmission leak, needs new
control arms and bushings and gave a fault code for the steering control
module. The dealer has fixed the leak but says the control module is not giving their mechanics a fault code (BS, I am sure) and that the suspension is a wearable item so they won't fix it.

My mechanic has also warned me about the header issue witht his engine and the leaky cam solenoids that damage the ECU and O2 sensors.
He says I shouldn't buy the car.

I really love the car and it seems to be in great condition, minus the issues. It has had the recall work done with the pcv hose and the cam solenoids and extensions.

Has anyone with this car and engine had a good experience with it?
Does the recall work prevent the damage from happening?

I can't afford to replace heads or any expensive engine parts, so please help me figure out whether or not to take the car back to the dealer.

Thanks!

I have a car with the M271, but it's a 2005. I would not buy a 2003 because of the head issues. I also would not buy a car to work on all the time.

My vote is take it back.

Thanks for the advice. There has been too many red flags at this point, so I think it is a no go for me.
