Audio questions... confused???
i have an 06 C230. it says i have an Audio 20 system.
i have several questions. i searched but im confused about the audio options and number of speakers that come with the car.
is this a Bose system since i dont have the HK premium package?
how many speakers do i have in my car?
also, im assuming i dont have any stock subwoofers in my car right?
im asking because someone is selling a stock sub for the dashboard from an 03 C230 and i wanted to know if i can just buy the sub and plug it in my car. if there is a connector already there in the dashboard.

You don't have bose... Bose was in the older models only if you upgraded stock on a c320.. HK was for the newer ones that choose to upgrade.. You may just have some paper speakers.. I know the grills in the back of your car are just for looks.. hehe
That bose woofer will not work and i don't understand why you would want that underpowered nasty hitting paper woofer.. lol true story..
I took mine out two weeks after i got my ride.. It now sits in the garage.. If you wanna play with it ill sell it for 50 haha.. But i think i may keep it for when i trade the car in for my new whip Cl 500 in the making or a C32

Audio 20 is a HK system, but it is not Logic 7 which is the premium. Bose subs were in the dash of cars to 04 if premium sound was supplied. With the facelift in 05 the premium sound had a sub with a midrange speaker installed in the rear parcel shelf, or in the right rear storage area of wagons. The HK premium package had slightly different speakers in the doors and an amplifier on the right rear wheel arch. The HK amp includes a subwoofer amp and Logic 7 decoding. The amp gets its signal from the head unit on MOST fiber optics. The Bose system used D2B fiber optics. They are not compatable. Even the Bose sub will not work in a MOST car because Admar (Bose) likes to make speakers with very low impedence voice coils that do not play nice with MOST amplifiers.
If your car does not have premium sound, the power amplifier is built into the head unit, and conventional copper wires distribute the sound to the speakers in the doors. There are 6. Two in each front door and one in each rear door.
The brudda in HI has a $5 speaker for sale. It is about 7 years old, will only work in a very few number of cars, and might need to be reconed to sound right.
