Will ESP go off if the clutch is slipping?
Every once in a while when I go WOT my ESP cuts fuel when I shift into 3rd. Its a the M271, so there's not enough power to spin the wheels in 3rd, and I'm not dumping the clutch. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the clutch is slipping a little bit and the car thinks there is no traction. But it only does it on the shift from 2nd to 3rd, which still makes no sense! How can the clutch slip in 3rd while moving if it doesn't slip from a dead stop with the tractor pulling 1st gear!!! So my question is does ESP only use wheel sensors or does it take into account engine speed not matching?
