few problems

Has anybody else had really squeaky suspension in their C-class. I mean its really loud and I can hear it from inside the car really easily. I already had a rear shock replaced because it busted for some unknown reason, but this is definitly coming from the front. Yesterday I hear a loud clunk noise when I stopped sharply in my driveway. On another note, today my check engine light came on and is on everytime I start my car. I'm going to try not to drive it. I'm really careful with my car. I never redline it and usually go pretty easy on it. Has anybody else had their check engine light stay on for an extended period of time.

If your suspension noise sounds very much like a rubber noise and only occurs when going through speed bumps, I can say 90% is your sway bar bushings. There is a design flaw to the sway bar bushings and MB has just come out with a slightly different design. Bring your car back to the dealer and get them to change the bushings for you, it should be under warranty.

With regards to your Check Engine lights....there're a lot of reasons why it is on, e.g. a) there is something wrong with your engine b) you didnt close the fuel cap properly after refueling or c) air pump failure. However, the MOST common problem is you didnt close the fuel cap properly after refueling. Regardless, you have to bring your car back to the dealer and have them check on it.
