stereo questions
is it true that you have to replace your factory headunit when replacing your stock speakers on the 03' c230 sedan please replay asap... cause my friend wants to know before he orders his car// thanks in advance...

You can leave the stock speakers in they do sound good with a after market head but they don't look good. I have replaced all the speakers with Kenwood and it sounds great.
I wouldn't recormend changing the stock speakers with the standard head unit no point in changing the speakers for a better make unless there gonna get more power

You can upgrade the speakers without installing an aftermarket headunit, though I'm not sure how good it will sound. The stock headunit (Audio 30) is just underpowered and low-quality.

If he wants to keep a stock head unit, have him get comand(or better yet EURO COMAND!). I swear to you, when my stereo was switched to the comand, I could hear the difference-much clearer and a little more bass than the stock bose/alpine unit. Just add a little more bass in the trunk, and you got a nice mostly "stock" sound system w/nav! And for a DAMN good price.
