So far I'm eally impressed by the new sport sedans from MB. Recently a forum member posted that he got consistent 0-60 runs in 6.9 seconds using a G-tech pro In his 03 C230 sedan 6speed. I don't know if the 02 coupes will do that and they have a little more horsepower and the torque comes sooner. MB is also doing a great job marketing them it seems. I can't think of the last time I saw an aggressive Mercedes commercial. The closest thing to the new sport sedan commercials was the Hippie dude crusing with the sunroof open in his coupe listeing to gheggy-tah...not sure about the spelling on that band. I think they will be a big hit. If they had been out when ordered my coupe I would have definitly gotten one. Not that I don't love my coupe.

Wrong O!...TRY NOT Penske. My brother's friend was there asking about the C230k sedan too. Them damn sales won't tell us anything untill we start to sign some paper... We just walked away. my bro's friend got a new Golf GTI VR6 instead.

Paying 930 a month for the M3... now paying 500 flat for the C230k... makes more sense to me. I just bought a house so i could use the 430 dollar a month differential

No, not getting tired of the questions, just a little surprised.

Most people do the research, get hooked on a choice, and then pull the trigger. (I actually admire your patience before making a decision).

To save you from asking: Mine is now about 5 weeks old, with 3300 miles (yes, I do travel for a living). But, still has the new car smell & all.

Now that its past 1k miles, Ive had a chance to play (by the way, I know there are supposed to be appostrophes, but I cant find the appostrophe on these damn French-Canadian keyboards).

The car is definitely a blast. Overall cornering is probably right on par with BMW, although the car is not as quick or composed in transient response (left-right-left). Brakes are absolutely amazing Taking off-ramps now is a lesson in neck-strengthening. Speed is definitely acceptable, but not to be confused with fast. Quick is a better word.

Right now, with premium at $1.79 per gallon around home, it is definitely nice to be averaging 26-27mpg when in town (and horsing it every so often), and 30+ on the highway.

In short, you wont find any complaints here.

Hi Alevy,

Congratulations on the order, I too have a C230K sedan on order. Mine is scheduled to be built today (3/20) and I hope to have it by the latter part of April. Again like you, I'm currently driving a 3-series (1999 323i). I've enjoyed the BMW, but wanted something a little different this time. Hopefully we've made a good choice!

They are sweet. And for $750 they are a deal. It was a must for me. I got the Coupe, but I did test drive the sedan with a 6-speed. That is the only short-throw six speed they had. It was great and if I wanted a four door I would have got one myself. Of course some day I may get an M3 or a C32, so I have to ask. How was the M3? I know your new MB will not be as fast, but I am sure you will love it. It is not like we are in Germany and can go as fast as we want.

I have no complaints about the M3.. Loved the 6sp.. Fast as hell.. ate Vettes (non z06) for breakfast.. But im getting older and bought a house so its time for a 4 door.. But if your looking for a sports car.. Go with the M3... picture 333hp out of a naturally aspirated 6cyl.. No disrespect to the C32 its an unbelivable machine (Who's engines dont blow :-D ) but it took amg slapping in a supercharger to produce that output...

I did not test drive the C240, I was only interested in the Sport Sedan (which is not offered with the 240). On paper, it looks as if the supercharged four will run circles around the 240 as far as performance goes (189hp, 192 lb-ft torque on the 230K versus 168 hp, 177 lb-ft torque on the 240) I did drive the C320 and C230K back to back. I, personally, could not justify the almost $6000 difference between the two. I was hesitant on the four cylinder engine also until I drove it. I'm coming from a six cylinder BMW (323i) and did not feel I was losing any performance. For me, I felt I would be happier with a loaded up 230K rather than a "base" 320. Also, with gas prices going up, the more miles I can squeeze from every gallon is a bonus.

YEUP! Actually I was going to get the c240. I did notice that it was more sluggish thatn the c230k sedan. While I was contemplating wether or not to buy it, the dealer called me and said he just got the c230's in and to come for a drive. I felt the ride was better and from an engine standpoint it's quick. Plus, the additional styling just made it a better overall purchase.

Find a dealership with them, take it for a ride and let's hear your thoughts....

You're almost certain to enjoy the c230 you ordered.

My wife and I got a c230 sedan about 2 weeks ago. It's an automatic with a charcoal leather interior, a sunroof, heated seats, rain-sensing wipers, and a CD changer. We've done a couple 3.5-hour trips, along with the usual in-town driving.

There's easily enough power to get up to speed for the highway, and the car rides very well at 80+ mph.

We've run into only a couple things, both minor:

When accelerating, the automatic transmission seems to either have us crawl along or else it drops out of gear, revs the engine for a few seconds, and then shoots us forward. We're slowly learning how to deal with this. A manual transmission should be fine anyway, though.

Lumbar support could be improved on the stock seats; we'll probably get a couple small pillows for our next trip. Support for the sides and upper back feels great.

This car feels very solid, comfortable and even relaxing. I completely enjoy driving it, and -- like an earlier poster -- find excuses to take it out. It has such a nice feel to it that I always want to get back in and drive around some more.
