"The Beast" C280 4MATIC, 2007 AUDI A4 S-Line Black on Black
hey guys, i'm new. just bought a 2006 C 230 sport as an upgrade from my 1995 C 280. i like a lot of the mods i'm seeing here! since i'm more familiar with W202s, could anybody point me in the right direction as far as quintessential W203 mods go? i'm looking for tasteful upgrades that won't break the bank of a college student.. i have to work a lot harder for the expensive things!
I have a general idea here, just curious what the consensus is:
-clear/black sidemarkers?
-tinted tailights?
-tinted windows (what % looks best?)
-de-badging? black badging?
-rims? (sizes that fit? keep it stock or not?)
-drop? (how low?)
-LED/HID city lights?
-tuning?
-headers?
-cat deletes/resonators/exhaust work?
-diffusers?
Here she is just off the auction block:

Welcome!!
Personally, all the cars that I have seen that are "black" in color, look amazing with chrome wheels, maybe some 19's HRE's. If you want that clean look, you can get euro strips that will replace the side markers. Def get tint, most states the lowest you can go is 35% but it varies. Just take a look through the threads and pic's, to see what others have done to get a feel for what you think you want yours to look like. Everyone's different and there is alot of potential for your car, it all depends on "how you picture it in your head".

Carfreak1234 your car color is just like mine. You can take some ideas on how mine looks. I have staggered 19 inch tsw Caldwell's and my tint is 15% just so you know. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me. My cars pic is on page 188 towards the bottom. You can't miss it.

-i just bought some clear sidemarkers for $20 online(just the lense covers), i'm also going to get some PIAA xtreme white bulbs for them, my car is white but since your car is black, you might consider doing the blacked out side markers
-i personally don't like tinted taillights but they may look good on a black car
-window tint, if you're willing to deal with the possibility of getting pulled over for illegal tint, go for 20%, anything darker would prob be too dark to see at night, if you want to keep a little bit of the blue factory hue to the windows, do 35%, that's what i have on mine and you can still see the blue in it
-definitely go for the flat hood badge, they're not too expensive, i got a black cl grille on mine with the large chrome star in it, they also have one completely blacked out, or if you want you can just paint your OEM grille black, search google and you'll find a few styles
-rims, i have 18's, some people do 19's, 20 i think you can make it work with a short sidewall tire, but it's prob a little much for these cars, just make sure you get the right tire sizes so it fits in the wheel well without rubbing, and get the right offsets so you clear the caliper in the front, typically if you get an offset of +30mm you will be safe to clear the front caliper depending on the style of rim, i have an offset of +38mm in the front with a 10mm spacer and it barely clears, but i have a large lip on the rim, 18 inch wheels, get 225/40 front tires, 255/35 rear tires, 19 inch wheels i'm not sure
-drop i'm not familiar with and i probably won't do it, i'm happy with the sport suspension 'cause it handles pretty well as is and i don't want to sacrifice the ride quality, if you're going to get bigger rims thought i'd be careful about how much you drop 'cause you could have rubbing issues
-definitely get some HID projector headlights, i'm about to buy a pair, depo is the best brand in my opinion, LEDs i'm not sure yet but looking at buying soon
-ecu tune, Eurocharged is a sponsor on this forum and they have a thread about the tune, just search Eurocharged ECU Tune and you will find it
-i know a lot of people have done cat and resonator deletes and i've heard good things about it, but watch some youtube videos and make sure you know how your car will sound because it will LOUD, i'm going to put a four tip exhaust on my car in the next month and will definitely post pics and videos when it's done, just remember if you're going to do exhaust work, you want to take it to a shop that really knows what they're doing and plan on spending a good amount of money to get it right
-you can get a CF diffuser for the single tip stock, or, what i'm going to do, is get a dual CF diffuser so i can install the 4 tip
Some other things you could do that aren't too expensive are:
-CF front lip
-CF trunk spoiler
hit up Gary@suvneer who is another sponsor and he sells these items for our cars
hope this helps you out

Well for the reverse lights you have to install a load capacitor in order for them to work. I forgot the bulb number but it has a metal twist base with a single contact. The capacitor is easy to install too it took me like 15 min to install.

I love those wheels...what colors are you considering? They look good to me as is. Are you going for a more matte finish on them?

the color looks nice on the car only when it's really clean but to me i feel like my car is too silver for that color.
i was thinking of going a blue light chrome like these rims

since blue and silver goes well together and too match the mercedes blue tint. then paint the rivets/bolts anodized blue and of course repolish the lip.

Thanks Guys ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Right now the rear's adjustable are at it's lowest and the fronts are about half way turned(still got half thread left to lower)(H&R Coilovers) The rear were a B*** to adjust since the adjustable was completely covered.
Rollnn: I think they're around 36-38. When I take them in to powdercoat I'll have them check the offsets on the car to double check. Right now it uses a 15mm in the front and none in the rear. I'm planning to put a 10mm in the rear to make it flush, but i'm sure i'll have to adjust the height to make it higher before it rub.
Eesjunin: Hopefully it will come out like nice like it sounds

thanks C230 Mulac! that was extremely detailed and helpful, now I'm probably going to spend some time with the car stock until i can figure out exactly what i want to do with it. i'll make sure to post pics as it progresses.
I'm liking these ideas for now:
-black side markers
-black taillights (maybe)
-35% tint
-CF front lip/spoiler
-K&N (probably just the drop-in)
And these will be more expensive, so they might take longer to get:
-eagle eye/depo projectors (ps those led reverse lights look fantastic)
-rims (how do we feel about black? matte vs gloss? chrome lips?)
-eurocharged tune
..and so it begins

black rims would look nice if you're going for the blacked out look, which it seems like you are with the black side markers and tail lights. chrome lips are nice, i love the ones i have on mine, but if you want to have the chrome lip, i suggest keeping the chrome trim on the rest of the car to match up. some people like to remove all the chrome off the car and then the lip on the wheel prob wouldnt look as good.
i'm too lazy to scroll up and see what i said about the CF lip, lol, but send a PM to gary@suvneer telling him what kind of car it is and he can get you one of those at a real good price. he also sells the CF trunk spoiler if you want that too.
