Does anyone have a Valentine1 DIY for our cars? Im looking for a switched power supply so it goes on and off with the cars ignition... Any help would be much appreciated.

Alex,
I'll be nice and won't even say 'STFF'![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
But up above and to the right is the search button. Beleive me, 95% of anything you could ever even think about doing to your car has been discussed on here before. Just a couple days ago that there were two different threads on the V1 going.
Happy searching!

In a nutshell, the V1 comes with a hardwire kit (or is it the remote unit which is ordered separately?). You piggyback off the live lead to the cig lighter, which is accessible by removing the shifter sleeve. I believe it's the thicker, black one with a yellow stripe if I remember correctly.
I happen to own a crimping tool and the plugs are RJ11 modular phone-type, so I used some bulk phone cable, cut it to custom length, ran it concealed up to the passenger-side visor (use a credit card to "caulk" it in behind the panelling), and to the remote unit which I placed within eyeshot next to the MFD in the gauge cluster, and terminated it with RJ11 modular cubes.
One of these days, I may post pics. Yeah right...

Had no problems with that.. just hooked it into the Garage Door Opener switched power supply.. Just looking for a convenient switched power supply in my new C230k sedan... The cigarette lighter is switched or always on? Because id like it to go on and off with the car.. If you guys could tell me where and what color wire to look for that would be great...

Tap into the cig. lighter under center console.
Tap into the cig. lighter under center console. It will allow plenty of switchable power and will not interfer with the closed loop electrical system.
