I just bought this car and want to get some more bottom end. I believe it is the stock system with a factory installed CD changer in the glove box. What are my options for a sub. I've read about a factory Bose sub. Will that work with my system?Or is it better to just get an aftermarket sub? If so, is the trunk the best place to put it?

Go aftermarket. I got the BOSE and IMHO the bass sounds better in the stock system but the definition is better in the BOSE.

You need to put it in the trunk unless you want to go custom and have it somewhere in the interior. Even if you replace the stock unit with an aftermarket in the rear deck you would be wise to power it with an external amp.

I would suggest, as I'm sure many others on the forum would too, buy the Audio 10 CD and install that. The two big bonuses are an in-dash CD player and drastically improved sound over the stock headunit. You can usually find one for sale for $250 or less either here or on eBay. Session posted really good instructions on how to install. Search the forum for some information on the Audio 10 CD - I think you'll see most people have been pleased with the improvement in sound (especially bass response).

I have the Bose syste, in the coupe and was not satisfied with the sub at all. I just installed an Infinity Basslink and I totally love it. You can get them on Ebay, brand new and everything for around $200. You gotta get a few things to install it but its probablly the most economical way to get nice bass. It cost me under $300 totally finished, and that includes shipping, amp install kit, and a Line Output Concerter. Search the forum for info about installing it, or just people who have tried it. I have to say I am very pleased. Unless you want to go blow the doors off other peoples cars this will be plenty.
