rear end noise over bumps
Ok my 03 c240 4matic wagon makes a strange noise everytime i go over bumps
kinda sounds like a steel bar under tension thats moved kinda like a guitar string Im not sure what it could be were these cars know for problems with suspension??

Rear engine mount (aka transmission mount). I've had this issue. It's the noise you describe (including you H8TKTZ) and the mount is cheap and not too labor intensive to replace.

well how far back is the rear mount as to me in my wagon it sounds like its comming from the cargo area (but it is really hard to tell) Im going to charge up my video cam and see if i can record the sound this weekend
