Adjust Coupe Hatch (to align it properly)
This relates to this post - https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...h-squeaks.html
but figure I might get more feedback with a more relevant title rather than the simple fact that it squeaks.
I used the electrical tape thing for a bit but that was a very temporary solution since the hatch would pretty much just slide the tape off or wear through it rather immediately. The reality is the hatch is no longer aligned and beginning to rub and I fear it will ultimately not shut properly/crack the brake lens/ break the glass/other disaster. I have to address this ASAP.
Has anybody out there adjusted their hatch? If so, whats the easiest procedure? I'm not sure which would be a more reasonable approach
a) readjust/tighten the bolts attaching the hinge to the car roof (looks like I'd have to remove the head liner)
b) or the bolts attaching the hinge to the hatch itself (looks like I'd have to remove a bunch of trim around the hatch.
Any input is very much appreciated!!!!
BTW - I found this helpful post about R/R paneling and such
