C240 Loaner observations...

my baby is in for her service A, so i've got a C240 loaner and i've noticed the following:

these 4 are no real shock:

1. Much quieter interior
2. Much smoother ride
3. Lots of bobbing sensations over bumps.
4. Doesn't handle anywhere near as good as my coupe.

5. Not terribly impressed with the leather. like my cloth better.

6. Much more peppy than i would have thought after reading this forum. The old butt dyno tells me it feels stronger off the line than my coupe, but it seems to drop off quicker...maybe just this car.

7. The stereo blows my coupe out of the water. and yes this is stock not Bose. supposed to be the same as my coupe right? This car has waaaaaaaay more bass. maybe the trunk is amplifying the sound. i dunno. but you can feel the bass.

8. One touch close on the roof isn't as handy as i thought. i found myself holding the button anyway out of habit. I MISS MY PANORAMA! It's amazing how much it opens up the interior.

9. Gas milage sucks on this car. maybe its just this one, but driving out to my dealer, i used 1/8 a tank in my coupe. driving back in the loaner 1/4. a tank. ouch.

so, just stuff i noticed. i hadn't driven the sedan before and although its nice overall, i don't regret buying my coupe...

We have a C320 (Wagon) loaner right now.

Auctally I didn't know I was getting a wagon as they didn't tell me. They said it was a C320 so I agreed. Turns out this lady who was getting a car beside me didn't want a waggon so they gave me her car!

This thing is pretty nice auctally. I like the instrument panel. I dislike how the window switches are on the door. The car has lots of power and handles pretty well. The ride is nice. The back is small.

ahhh!!!!!

that explains the gas consumption. i thought the 240 was 4cyl and the 320 was V6. oops. i thought the front of the car looked bigger! i was like, i bet that little 4 looks tiny in there. should have looked!

Nope, the C240 is a 2.6 Litre version of the 320's 3.2 V6. Its like 168HP...its a little slow.

Nope, the 2.3L 4 banger sucks up much if not more of the bay. The supercharger, and intake runners are pretty big.

The 1.8 looks a lot less impressive when you open the hood.

Don't you ever look under the hood of your own car?

my own car yes!

yeah i've looked at my own engine (2.3L). i woulda taken a peek if i'd realized the loaner had a 6... I was picturing the 1.8 in the C240 for some reason. probably all the posts around here saying 'i need more power in my c240' made me think there must be a 4 in it. i wouldn't have thought to hear that so much with a 6.

The 1.8 makes about 20 hp more than the 2.6.
