Check engine light reset

Anybody know how to clear a CEL without a code reader? I just corrected a few problems, and would like to get a fresh reading on the codes. (My code scanner is lent to my brother, and I can't get it back anytime soon..)

Battery disconnect doesn't work for some reason, which leads me to believe that:
1. A new code is tripping _or_
2. The battery disconnect doesn't clear it.

I have tried an ECU reset (because I could) and that didn't work either..

Nope, you need an OBD2 scanner to clear the code. You can get a decent one for $30 at Harbor Freight. Or go to an autoparts store. Some will scan and reset CEL's for free.
