HID Question!

Hi guys,

I have searched and didnt seem to find an answer.

I know that if i was to put a HID kit in my w203 the error codes would come up and the lights will eithet not work at all or jsut flash.

I know that the Srock Halogens run at 55w and the problem happens when you plug in 35w hids.

If i was to put 55w Hid's would they work ok? Because the issue only happens when you plug in a 35w bulb into a system that runs 55w and higher current etc...

Thanks.

No, the current pull is still different from stock. I have 55w and they didn't work. DDM has error eliminators for about $20 for the pair. I bought them when I bought my HIDs from them. I tried without first, but had no luck. I later got Xenon set to present on my car so that I could run my DRLs, and all is fine, now.

i bought an HID kit from the group buy HIDextra.com. i didnt have to set xenon=present and they send you a free capacitor/resister whatever it is to stop the flickering. No error message. works great

I bought three kits from them for three different cars.. never got one. Did you request it?

I just went to the dealer and got my xenon=present setting.

How much did they charge you to get Xenon = Present?

My indy shop did it for not. I was told that, if it took less than 10-15 minutes to do, that it would be free. It takes about 30 seconds if you give them instructions.

if you right down on the special instructions or notes whatever section it is, you write what car the HID kit is going on and if it requires the capacitor/resistor they will send it to you at no charge. but if they dont know what kinda car it's going on they dont know if you need it or not so they assume you dont. So write down the car it's going on so they can see if you need it.

yep, it quite literally takes 30 seconds.

the question is.... which of your local dealerships are willing to do so. most are reluctant to do it for you since its aftermarket. even if they do, they charge you an arm and a leg. $75-150.

best to do it through an indy shop.

Sounds like the bulb is going... DDM has a lifetime warranty, they'll send you new bulbs if you contact them. Matt has had this problem twice, and they sent him bulbs in matching pairs - free!
