Transmission computer 2002 C320 wagon
My transmission quit shifting and put the car in a limp mode. I traced it down to oil that had made its way into the transmission computer. The stealership wants $1100 for a new one and says that it is VIN specific. Has anybody had this problem and found a used replacement? Will other models crossover?
Thanks, Ted

I borrowed and swapped a computer out of a friends identical wagon for a test before purchasing a new one. It still won't shift above second-gear. Has anybody had a similar problem with shifting? Other than not shifting up past second, the transmission acts pretty good. It has the proper amount of fluid... etc.
Any advice, suggestions, or reports of similar transmission issues/fixes would be appreciated. This car has been at a trusted Mercedes-only shop for five weeks now... we're getting pretty desperate. We also had the Bose sound amplifier toast itself due to water entering the top connector, seat modules crap out... all the good stuff!
