Open post to MB-BOB

MB-BOB,

Well at this point it looks like I’ve been censored since my previous post, “In my defense…”, has been deleted. I was aware that you responded to this post and I was only able to briefly read it, and not able respond due to time constraints. So from here forward I’m going by memory as to the gist of your response.

First let me state that I did not take your response to my picture posts personally. I know you were merely trying to ensure the ease of navigation of the “picture thread” and that the posting rules were being followed. In addition, I’ll be the first to admit I misunderstood the ambiguous definition of what was “allowed”.

Having said that, I hope you did not take my response personally either. My entire point was that by the moderator reacting hastily to ensure the “rules are followed” does not benefit anyone nor promote open communication. I fact, it completely inhibits the possibility that there might be another solution amicable to all involved. As you recall, my original post suggested the possibility of creating a “miscellaneous pictures” thread. If I’m not mistaken, your response to me was in favor of this suggestion.

I will also be the first to admit the job of moderator is difficult when your dealing so many varied personalities. I know I would not want the job, but in the same breath I’ll also state that I’m going to voice my opinion to ensure we all have a reasonable and equal voice forum in which to participate. I hope you understand that this is all I was trying to say and please accept my apologies if I offended you in any way.

Sincerely,

Mark Bos

Mark:

We're cool... I was more concerned that you though I instigated something and thus were angry with me. I'm glad you are not, and I can assure you I did not take your remarks negatively.

I am a little concerned if these threads are mysteriously disappearing... Perhaps we could deal with any issues like this via PMs, but I think there is value in the whole forum seeing that we all work out any tensions (real or imagined) for the good of all. At least we are not tirading at each other and calling childish names, etc. Thus we are, in a sense, trying to lead by example.

Peace, bro, it's all good.

Bob

MB-BOB,

Thanks for understanding... I too thought about posting this as a PM, but felt it would be better served as an open forum message for multiple reasons, most of which you have sited.

Take it easy and keep the shiny side up.

Bos, I am infact glad you posted this as an open message rather than a PM to MBBob. I apologize for deleting your pictures without PM'ing you to let you know as to why they were deleted. In the future I will PM the person about the deletion of the post so it won't seem like it "mysteriously disapeared".

Bos, feel free to create a C Class Miscellaneous Picture Thread or something of that nature.

Thanks.

John,

I appreciate your forthrightness in responding to my open post. As for the deletion of the pictures, I understand you’re just trying to do your job. I was actually aware my “picture posts” had been deleted when it happened. The “mysteriously disappeared” thread that MB-BOB and I referred to above was posted be me and entitled “I my defense regarding picture posts”. This is the message that for some reason was deleted and smells suspiciously like censorship. I’m not trying to put any labels on the incident, but if that’s the case, I’m more than a little concerned. At this point enough has been said regarding this subject, so I won’t berate the issue any further.

Your willingness to at least “PM” a member when their post is going to be deleted is appreciated as well. You obviously have an interesting and very demanding job to do trying to keep the posts in this community forum open, informative, and democratic. The only other thing I can say is keep pushing forward in this endeavor and thanks for being supportive of the forum.

As for a “Miscellaneous C-Class Pictures” thread, I think that would be great idea and beneficial to the forum. It would also be nice to see it in the format of a “sticky” thread like the current one so it always remains accessible. I will say that I don’t want to be so presumptuous to think that this is what everyone wants, so I would rather you put it to a community vote. If the powers to be concur, than by all means make a “Miscellaneous C-Class Pictures” thread, or whatever name you feel is appropriate. Once again, thanks for stepping up to the plate.

John and Mark:
I too have a couple cutaway drawings I would be happy to contribute to a "Misc. C-Class Pictures" thread.

Shiny side up, indeed!
