At the moment, when I hold the unlock button on my key and aim it at the infrared sensor on my door handle, my door windows roll down, my sunroof slides back, and I look like a total badass.

My sunshade, though, has taken a step for the worse, and is falling apart while derailing at the same time. Can I use STAR to reprogram my sunroof to just tilt when I hold unlock? That way my sunroof can stay in the closed position and appear functional until I fix it.

You probably can, but I haven't seen anyone do it so I dunno how easy or hard it would be. IIRC, didn't you buy an extended warranty on this thing (that I subsequently gave you hell about)? Although I guess the warranty is more likely just to cover major things. The minor annoyances would bug me, though. How many miles are you at? I noticed things like this when I had an Acura TL that had done a good bit of sitting in its lifetime in the GA heat. I really think the best thing you can do for a car (outside of all the maintenance) is drive and use it.

Yeah, the warranty was bull****. Nothing that was "wear and tear" or "on the door panel", shoot, or even "aesthetic" was covered when we brought up issues. Canceled the warranty and got back a portion of what was left of it for compensation. Like you said, it only covers the major stuff, like motor mounts, but I figured the bigger things don't fail as much as the little things, and have resorted to just doing the small repairs, such as door handles, myself, using the refunded money.

Some times my sunroof tilts and some times it opens all the way when I hold the unlock button.

I'm not sure how the car picks which to do though.

There's hope! Although, an itch tells me perhaps your sunroof wasn't full closed from the tilt position from an earlier time which could have triggered this. Just a small increment..

EDIT: I just went outside to test it out. What zerocover stated happens when the sunroof is not closed fully from its tilt position. Basically, you can barely not close your sunroof from tilt (undetectable by the eye from exterior) and go and hold unlock, leaving your sunroof tilting all the way while your windows roll down. Hopefully STAR can change it up so it doesn't require me to get the tilt started.
