installing cd player in a 01-c240/steering wheel controls

My 6 cd changer is jammed or something (no changer installed message) and I want to install a $100 cd player from best buy. My question is once they install the cd player will I lose all steering wheel controls? I know I'll lose the volume controls for sure. I still want to see messages, temperature, miles, settings, etc on the display controlled thru steering wheel. Will I lose this?

do not take your Mercedes to best buy and i fing work there
first i assume you are talking about the head unit not the cd changer right. if so why not fix the cd changer and leave the HU alone? IF you are talking about the Cd Changer i would just swap it out then go for some crappy one.

yes you will still have controls of temperature, miles and settings, no volume if you go that route

Yea i currently have a stock head unit with stock glove box 6 cd changer. For whatever reason (i think a cd or tray is jammed) it says no cd changer present. I hit the green eject button but the magazine wont pop out. So thats why I was gonna get a new single cd player and just to play mp3s. How much is a cheap cd changer? Would Frys do a good job? I have one near me here in anaheim.
