HARD shift into second gear
Does anybody else have a problem with the shift from 1st --> 2nd gear?
I've noticed that, especially when the engine is colder (i never floor my car or drive it crazy when its cold, i just mean when it has been running already for a while) that if i floor it, the shift from 1st gear to 2nd is soo hard it jolts the whole car and it even drops into gear so Hard that wheels break loose upon shifting into second.
Does anybody know what would becausing this or have this problem? I plan on taking it in soon.
Thanks!

Do you have the 5-speed or 7-speed (I'm assuming automatic)? My 5-speed does it when it's cold out too, but only over the first couple miles and goes away for the most part when it warms up. There's been a few threads on this. Seems to be a software thing, if it's not the glycol (coolant) contamination - looks like you have an '06 so I believe they had solved the coolant leak from the radiator by then.

I know his car is newer, I was just relating my experience with the shifting. It was worse when it was downshifting.. It just seem like it was going to break everytime I came to a stop. Horrible!

In my '06, I've not experienced this "hard" shift you're speaking of. If I had to pick one that was more pronounced than the rest (when cold), I'd say probably the 1 --> 2 shift. However, I wouldn't go so far as to call it "hard" or rough, just more noticeable. Also FWIW, I had my transmission fluid changed around 13K miles ago.
