Hi there,

I had to break suddenly around a bend and lock up the breaks.

Now when the car is at a stand still if i try to turn the steering wheel it is really heavy and barley moves a little bit, if i accelerate and turn it turns fine but if im not revving it is really hard to turn.

What could be wrong?

During hard breaking and turning at the same time could i have broken something?

What does it mean if the wheels dont trn in idle but work fine when revving?

Please help!!

Souns like something is wrong with steering pump

Try inspect the leak and the steering oil level in reservoir.
Also check for belt tension, it may be slip.

yeah that's definitely sounds like a power steering pump problem

How can i tell if the pump has gone bad before i take it somewere and get ripped off?

BTW: there is no noise or anything coming out of the ps pump and the oil level is fine and the belt tension is fine.

Try inspect the strut shock absorber and it's bearing too.

I just replaced the power steering pump and now its back to normal.
