2003 c240 4matic wagon
had a transmission filter/fluid change done today pics and fuel filter pic too
My 2003 c240 4matic wagon had as far as I could tell never had a transmission service done its at 118,700km no tranny problems at all
so i brought it in to MB and had it done NOT a flush just drop the pan and change the filter, so new filter and gasket 4L of atf put in
I asked for the old filter to be put in a bucket i had in my car as i wanted to see it myself the fluid did not smell burnt but was fairly black in colour (whats the colour supposed to be red?)
bottom of filter notice the grey sludgy stuff NOT gritty
inside of filter some metal flakes and lots of fluffy goop that grey stuff all that gritty looking stuff on the filter was actually soft and some was from sawing it open
was in a rush so i did not talk to the mechanic about the inside of the pan will try to ask him next week
while im at it here is my fuel filter cut open 117,000km replaced it and car has more power i think! could be in my head through
filter was black and ther was some sandy looking stuff inside the can
