i have not heard of any srs fixes they should only come on when there is an issue, sensor unplugged or airbag. They can only be cleared with star so you will have to go to the dealer or Indy with star to fix it. Have you been doing any work on the car?
no i have not. Its a very random message i really couldnt see it being something serious. its also doing the airconditioning clicking thing randomly too they both started around the same time and the car has been very solid otherwise
Wish there were some steps to go though that fixes srs issues but i have never heard of any star will be able to point out exactly what the issues is for you probably a sensor that went bad would be my guess. and FYI a normal scanner will not be able to reset the light. Oh the wonderful clicking that is always fun i got mine fixed under warranty thank god but have a motor that clicks but it still passes the sync test so i ignore it.

My guess, from experience with a w202, w203 and a w208, is that it is the passenger seat sensor. I would just bite the bullet and go to the dealer. If it is only the seat sensor, then it will be easily mended, and should be fairly inexpensive. Drive carefully until then.

ya my SRS came out about 4 months ago and hasn't gone away...been too busy with my job to have time to take it in, minus the whole fact that I know by going to any dealer i may as well bend over and drop 'em to the floor...
I got a letter in the mail regarding my 2005 being covered under an extended warranty due to some connector in the steering wheel that could cause the SRS light to come on. Alas, I am at 128,000 and so that no longer applies, but my car doesn't have any issue.
If you've got an 05 with less than 100k and an SRS light, take it in to see about the extended warranty. If not, you should probably invest in a scanner that can read SRS codes. In any event, definitely get it fixed as the seatbelt alone can't protect you adequately.

My SRS light went off a while back and i took it to the dealer, they charged me $150 to inspect it and see whats wrong, the passenger seat belt censer was malfunctioning. Ended up costing me $450.
